Armenian International Youth Office (AIYO) is a non-governmental and non-commercial organization which was founded on October 21, 2005.
During the last 6 years, the organization has realized various programmes such as Work and Travel in USA, youth exchange and development programmes, youth camps, youth exchange programmes in Europe, EVS, seminars and trainings.
Since then more than 100 young people have taken part in these programmes and every year the number of participants increases. The organization acts in the whole area of the Republic of Armenia and in foreign countries in accordance with RA legislation, international contracts and other countries’ legislation and its own charter.
Mission
To see humane, careful, developed, educated, liberal, law-abiding young Armenians who will understand and respect each other until 2020.
For this mission AIYO has adopted the following 3 principles
- In order to develop the youth’s outlook and integrate them in society the organization tends to promote the youth to take part in educational, exchange programmes and voluntary work both in Armenia and abroad
- In order to increase the professional and non-professional qualification of young specialists AIYO organizes the training of Armenian and foreign students, PhD students and professors, and the exchange of educational, work and voluntary programmes
- In order to create new opportunities and organize new programmes for local and foreign youth we establish close relations with local and international organizations
For realizing all these commitments, the organization has set up the following 10 goals
- To establish relations with local and international organizations and work out and realize different youth programmes
- To create an internet portal for youth through which it will be possible to spread the cultural-educational, voluntary, work and travel programmes
- To promote the youth especially with fewer opportunities to participate in local and international grant programmes
- To organize seminars and trainings for youth development
- To encourage the youth to participate in voluntary work both in Armenia and abroad to educate humanitarian and caring attitude in them
- To promote the youth to take part in voluntary work of short-term camps for integrating them in society and developing their outlook
- To involve the youth in trainings for gaining new professional skills and improvement
- To organize frequent meetings for youth and inform them about their rights and opportunities for taking part in different youth projects
- To encourage and help the youth to participate in short and long term EVS which aims at educating tolerance, humanity in them
- To work out European voluntary projects, youth exchange programmes and integrate foreign youth in the Armenian society
